National Service Scheme (NSS)

Baba Budha College, Bir Sahib, Tarn Taran is running one NSS unit of volunteers in previous session.

Objectives

To enrich the student’s personality and deepen her understanding of the social environment in which she lives.
To develop socio-economic awareness and encourage the students to impart the same to the illiterate community of the area adopted.
To develop socio-economic activities designed to tackle social problems.

Incentives & Weightage

The college awards concessions and incentives to the best NSS Volunteers.
Punjab State Youth Award is given to volunteers who give distinguished social and national services.
One special excursion trip/picnic is arranged for NSS volunteers.
Best NSS Volunteer is honoured on Annual Awards Day.

Baba Buddha (ਬਾਬਾ ਬੁੱਢਾ ) (1506-1631) or Bhai Buddha is recognized as one of the great Sikhs of the Guru period. Baba Buddha, was born into the Randhawa clan. He had the privilege of being blessed by the first six Gurus. He led an ideal Sikh life for more than a hundred years.

He was one of closest companions of the guru Nanak (the first Guru of Sikhism) and is one of the most revered and sacred saints in Sikhism. He holds one of the most important and pivotal positions in Sikh history. The first head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib.
